You want a better, or more fun and affordable place to Windsurf, Stand Up Paddle Board, Kayak, or Ride a Pedal Boat than California Windsurfing.
Conventionally located right at the water’s edge in Beautiful Foster City, just South of the Foster City Parks and Recreation Center, in Foster City’s beautiful Leo J. Ryan Park. The venue features safe inland waters and mild on-shore winds, making California Windsurfing an excellent place for the entire family to enjoy the water.
Rental equipment is for the use of one individual renter only. No sharing of equipment is permitted. Equipment is for use only in the Foster City Lagoon at Leo j. Ryan Park in Foster City, CA 94404.
Cash Only Facility
To keep our rates as low as possible, California Windsurfing has elected to remain a cash-only facility. We know this can be inconvenient. However, Our customer survey indicated that lower rates are highly preferred over convenience credit card acceptance.

Parking
Parking is FREE and plentiful at the Foster City Parks and Recreation Center. After parking, walk out to the waters edge next to the Bocci Ball Court and look South. You’ll see the boathouse about 100 yards down the walkway next to the boat launch behind the tennis courts and the Vibe Teen Center.
Open Year-Round
Class schedules, equipment rentals and usage hours may vary depending on weather, instructor
availability, and other unforeseeable causes beyond our control. If the weather or time seems questionable, give us a call. Will be happy to share the local weather conditions, equipment, and instructor availability.

Sorry, no checks, credit cards, or $100 bills can be accepted at our waterside location.
Identification and Security Requirements
California Windsurfing requires a valid US Driver’s License (Showing the individual is at least 18 years of age) or a valid Passport (Showing the holder is at least 21 years of age) to be held as security during the rental period. California Windsurfing will retain the License or Passport until all watercraft and associated equipment is returned undamaged and rental fees fully paid.
Students/Renters of Windsurfers, Kayaks, and Stand Up Paddle Boards must be 18 years of age, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, know how to swim, complete and sign the California Windsurfing waiver agreement, and acknowledge they understand and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions.
Pet Policy
We love pets, but for safety reasons, we cannot allow dogs, cats, or other pets onboard any of our watercraft, including: Windsurfers, Pedal Boats, Standup Paddle Boards, and Kayaks. Service dogs are welcome.
Operating Hours
12:30 pm to 6:30 pm Tuesday through Friday.
11:30 am to 6:30 pm Saturday & Sunday.
Last rental out at 6:00 pm, with a maximum rental duration of 30 minutes unless otherwise approved by the facility attendant on duty.
